^Lot 1658 OLDENBERG GERMAN FIREMAN'S PICKELHAUBE HELMET.

Imperial German Oldenberg firefighter officer's helmet. Wappen has Oldenberg coat of arms with Imperial eagle, fire axes & "GOTT ZUR EHRDEM NACHSTEN ZUR WEHR". Dome has four 8-pointed star rank insignia & spike. Helmet has Saxon & Imperial German tri-color kokades with what appears to be two US 1892 electrician side buttons. Black leather construction. Metal parts are a mix of brass & silver plated. Leather liner present. CONDITION: leather shows scattered crazing, some denting, cracking & white staining. Liner shows flaking, crazing & age related wear. Brass parts show overall fading to a dull yellow with scattered tarnishing. Silver band shows light oxidation & minor flaking. (02-25844/MJC).
